Today I had my first live-streaming web TV show experience. Good times! I appeared on MomTV with Chris Byrne (aka “The Toy Guy”) and Shannon Eis from Time to Play. I performed a number of effects from the new Magic Lunch Box set from Cadaco, as well as taught a few tricks viewers could try at home. Really enjoyed working with these two fun hosts, and we had a great time interacting with the moms watching at home (thanks for tuning in!).
Just wanted to share a fantastic commercial that was just sent to me by Dani Marco, my co-star from The Real Hustle. Dani filmed this stop-motion commercial over a three day period, and I think it looks amazing. (The commercial also happens to be for Comcast, my favorite cable provider… Watch me teach magic on Comcast-on-Demand’s ActivityTV!)
Apparently, truTV is currently re-airing select episodes of The Real Hustle. Check your local listings or set your DVR to catch them! The mini-site at trutv.com can still be seen here: The Real Hustle.
For those of you parents familiar with my work on Comcast’s ActivityTV, you may be interested to hear that they’ve released a series of DVD’s from my MAGIC channel. (They tell me it’s consistently one of the highest rated channels out of all the activities… Nice!)
Not a Comcast subscriber? No problem!! Comcast has released three DVDs of my instructional magic videos… Volume 1, Volume 2, and a double disc Volumes 1 & 2 combined. While I’m slightly biased, I think the DVDs came out really nicely, with the same level of production quality as the program itself.
Today I made my second appearance on QVC to promote the Cadaco Magic Show. Despite the long drive to Westchester, PA, I enjoyed the experience immensely. The spot went a lot better than the first one I made earlier this year, as I got more time with the host beforehand and was actually able to teach him several tricks.
You can watch the spot and buy the item on QVC.com. Just search for “cadaco magic”.
Funny anecdote: as I arrived early this morning the main entrance to the studio was closed off, and there were people gathering to peer in. I thought at first some celebrity was perhaps presenting, but I was wrong… a five-point buck had crashed through the lobby windows into the studio!
Yesterday I was featured on NY1 during their tour of the Toy Fair here in New York this week. Of all the cool things to see at the show, I was excited to see our magic sets made the cut! (How’d we beat out that nasty edible Play-doh across the aisle?!?!) If you’re up for a personal demo (or a taste of Play-doh) come stop by the Javits Center — it’s open to the public (with registration) and is on until Thursday. If you’ve never been to the Toy Fair, it’s a pretty interesting scene to take in.
Today my hometown newspaper, The Advocate, ran a profile on me on the cover of the Arts & Travel section. The article mainly talks about The Real Hustle series… and divulges the fact that got scammed as a teenager!
This morning I got to make another appearance on the Morning Show with Mike & Juliet. This time, they had me on solo talking about shoplifting techniques.
Today the three of us were guests on the Star Jones show, which also airs on truTV. During one of the segments, we demonstrated how someone could easily get pick-pocketed on the subway.
This morning Apollo, Dani and I were featured guests on The Morning Show with Mike & Juliet, which airs daily on FOX. The spots went really well, and I may even be on the show again next week… will update again!
